Calmly by the ocean tide Waiting for the sun to shine
Staring towards the horizon
While sitting beneath the shade of time
Mirrors on the ocean surface
Reflections of long lasted memories
Appearing like scattered broken shards and a forgotten
A past beyond make believe
A broken body in misanthropy laid down and shattered in disrepair
A mind consumed with melancholy with a desire to escape calamity
Feeling the radiance of the sunlight My only way of feeling alive Carrying its glow across distant plains As our goodbyes leave me confined in chains
And another triggered emotion leaves me farther behind As the radiance of the sun gradually drifts throughout time
Calmly resting by the shore As tides slowly chant whispered melodies
A sentiment worth waiting for As their everlasting songs stitch broken memories
Carrying the flashbacks of our past lives Leading us back to our time as a child
Carrying the presence of timelessness defining purity and all innocence
Handing over the forgotten spirit lost as we continued to aged as the cruelness of reality gradually caused us to fade
And as the setting sun slowly drifts away ,
the energy subsides for another day
Swallowing the sky in a crimson glow
Leaving to shine for the next day as we know
A broken body in misanthropy laid down and shattered in disrepair
A mind consumed with melancholy with a desire to escape calamity
Feeling the radiance of the sunlight
My only way of feeling alive
Carrying its glow across distant plains
As our goodbyes leave me confined in chains
And another triggered emotion leaves me farther behind As the radiance of the sun gradually drifts throughout time
I've been slowing working my way through Sadness' discography and it's crazy how he makes "depressive" black metal sound so beautiful. It's like the frigidness of early Coldworld mixed with the dreamy and lighter parts of Alcest. This one is the best I've heard from this band so far. Ryan
Jordan Vauvert
